Anambra state Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has warned communities across the state against land dispute, saying that the government of Professor Chukwuma Soludo will not tolerate such, as it disrupts peace and development, as well as threatens lives.
The Deputy Governor gave the warning when he visited Abba-Ukwulu-Ukpo land dispute areas in Njikoka and Dunukofia Local Government Areas.
Deputy Governor Ibezim, who regretted the number of land dispute cases in the state, said the administration of Professor Soludo is already out to settle all the land disputes; with strict adherence to existing competent court judgements, warning that anything that will hamper the development of the state under the present government will be tackled headlong.
He also warned that communities in land dispute of any form in the state must abide by the decision of the government on settlement, and desist from actions that could disrupt peace and harmony in the areas afterwards.
