Electoral officer urges ANSIEC to provide machines, manpower in Ogbaru

An Electoral Officer, Mrs. Amarachi Umunna has urged Anambra State Independent National Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) to provide adequate machines and manpower for voter’s registration in Ogbaru Local Government Area (LGA).

An Electoral Officer, Mrs. Amarachi Umunna made this call at Odekpe Town Hall following the upsurge of voters at the registration centres in the LGA for registration and collection of Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC).

She said that three places have been mapped out as INEC registration centres in order to ensure easy registration exercise, adding that the population of those waiting to be registered was more than the available machines.

The new INEC registration centres in Ogbaru are Odekpe Town Hall, St. Lawuanga Catholic Church, Okpoko and St. Gregory Catholic Church, Iyiowa-Odekpe.

The electoral officer noted that only three machines were deployed to Ogbaru Local Government Area which is made up of 16 communities.
