Denmark national team coach, Brian Riemer is confident that Manchester United striker Chido Obi will commit his international future at senior level to Denmark, rather than three-time African champions Nigeria.
Born in Glostrup, he qualifies to play for the Super Eagles through his Nigerian father Prince Obi.
Obi was omitted from Denmark’s squad for the for the upcoming fixtures against Portugal in the Nations League quarter-final on Tuesday.
The 17-year-old has become part of Manchester United’s first team in recent weeks, making debuts in the Premier League and FA Cup, and has so far represented Denmark at U16, U17 and U18 level.
Brian Riemer has taken notice, mentioning it while discussing Tuesday’s squad selection, saying he is in talks with the former Arsenal schoolboy.
