Anambra State Govt Wades Into Case Of Maid Stabbed By Mistress In Lagos…

Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Honourable Ify Obinabo has intervened in the case of a teenage girl, whose pregnant mistress stabbed with a knife.

The Women Affairs Commissioner embarked on a trip to Lagos State on Sunday, following a viral video circulating on social media of a girl identified as Chinaza Anienene, an indigene of Anambra State, whose mistress gave an open wound on the left side of her body.

The survivor, stated that her aunty stabbed her with a knife because she failed to wash a bag given to her by the woman.

Upon the Commissioner’s arrival, the Lagos State Police Command had already arrested the thirty-year-old pregnant woman, by name, Eucharia Ndigwe, for allegedly cutting her teenage maid’s body with a knife at Adaloko, in Ojo Area, of Lagos State.

The case has been transferred to the gender unit of the command where they are currently working with Lagos State Domestic, Sexual and Gender Violence Agency.

Speaking immediately after leaving police headquarters in Lagos, Honourable Obinabo, appreciated the efforts of Lagos State Police Command in apprehending the culprit and promised to follow up the case to the latter.

She noted that the wife of the governor of Anambra State is very much interested in the case and has assured to use everything within her power to get justice for the abused.

Visiting the survivor at the hospital, Commissioner Obinabor, assured her of justice and thanked everyone, who came to the aid of Chinaza.

The Commissioner noted that she is currently working with Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs, Anambra and Lagos States Police Commands in processing the paper work needed in facilitating the release and transfer of the case to Anambra State while the offender would be arraigned in court tomorrow in Lagos State for prosecution.

However, Commissioner Obinabor will be returning with the girl after an official handover by the Lagos State Police Command and Ministry of Women Affairs Lagos State.
